Event Details

Group art making provides a unique, fun and creative engagement opportunity. In this workshop students will learn the key principals to making strong art with acrylic paint. Each class we will learn and practice a specific principal, with discussion and questions. Every class will build on the previous, combining and strengthening our art making as we progress.

During this workshop, students will...

  • learn how to make strong design and learn art vocabulary.
  • learn and understand value, it is the first thing our eye sees.
  • combine design and value to create strong art.
  • learn about color and how to harmonize it.
  • practice combining the key principals of strong art.
  • learn how to create abstract art using the same key principals.
  • learn how to layers artwork with unconventional mark making and texture to make stronger art.
  • learn how to best display their art and create a unified exhibit and discuss their art with attendees.
  • engage and discuss what they’ve learned with friends at reception open to the public at a pop-up art exhibit.

This workshop is part of the Teton County Library's Creating Aging Programming Series and is only open to adult patrons 55 years of age and older.
