Event Details
Group artmaking provides a unique opportunity to expand one’s knowledge while staying socially engaged. In this workshop, students will learn the key principles to making strong art with acrylic paint, collage, and cut paper while working in actual books. Each class will center upon a specific technique, this along with discussion and questions.
During this workshop, students will...
- utilize everyday books as a medium for creative expression
- learn how to work collaboratively with others
- expand their art vocabulary and strengthen their overall design skills
- learn to differentiate between compositions with positive and negative shapes
- practice combining acrylic and collage techniques
- learn how to layer artwork with unconventional mark-making and texture
- learn how to best display their individual artworks while creating a unified exhibition
- engage and discuss what they’ve learned with friends at a public pop-up art show, which will take place after the last workshop session in Ordway Auditorium on Thursday, March 8th
This workshop is part of the Teton County Library's Creating Aging Programming Series and is only open to adult patrons 55 years of age and older.
