Science and Storytelling – Author Catherine Barr shares her experience researching and writing the youth title, The Wolves of Yellowstone.
In partnership with Jackson Hole Writers, Wyoming Humanities presents UK-based children’s book author Catherine Barr to share her experience, inspiration, techniques, and tips for writing captivating nonfiction stories for young audiences rooted in science and conservation. Barr will touch on the unique perspective of writing global stories, and what it feels like to finally visit an iconic place she’s only ever written about.
Catherine Barr has written over 35 books about nature and ecology for children, encouraging children to get involved in protecting the natural world.
Before writing full time, Barr worked as the editor of the Natural History Museum in London where she wrote summer exhibitions.
Barr has a background in researching and working in ecology, focusing on sea turtles and other endangered species.
