Young writer/illustrators in 5th - 12th grades are invited to this free workshop with Emily B. Martin, author of A Field Guide to Mermaids. She'll share how she researched and designed the mermaids in the book to highlight different underwater habitats. Hear excerpts and discuss what kinds of adaptations these mermaids have. At the end, follow along as she demonstrates how to draw your own scientifically-based mermaid or merman!
Participants will receive a free copy of A Field Guide to Mermaids and beginning sketching supplies.
